What We Install

Everything below is installed, maintained, and taken down by our own crew — you never touch a ladder or a storage bin. Seasonal displays are built from commercial-grade LED strands we supply and own, cut to fit your roofline on install day. The most popular starting point is warm white C9 bulbs along the gutter line, layered with wrapped trees on mature lots, staked walkway lighting, and fresh greenery at the entry. If you'd rather install once and be done, permanent LED trim mounts under the eaves and stays up year-round — more on that below.

Permanent Christmas Lights in Northbrook

Permanent LED lighting is the fastest-growing request we get. Instead of strands that go up in October and come down in January, a low-profile LED channel mounts permanently under your eaves, nearly invisible in daylight. From an app, you can run warm white for the holidays, team colors in the fall, and soft accent lighting the rest of the year.

Permanent systems run $20–$40 per linear foot installed — more upfront than a seasonal display, but with no annual install, takedown, or storage after that. Seasonal lighting still wins if you want wrapped trees, walkway lighting, and greenery, since permanent trim covers the roofline only; plenty of homeowners do both. Compare the two on our Christmas light installation service page, or ask for permanent pricing with your estimate.

Our Process

It starts with a free estimate: send your address, check off what you want lit, and attach a photo if you have one — most quotes go out within a business day. Once you approve, we lock an install date between October 15 and December 10.

On install day, the crew custom-fits every strand, secures it with professional clips, and tests the full display before leaving. Through the season, we handle any outages or storm damage at no charge. In January we return for takedown, and your lights go into our storage facility until next year — when reinstalling is as simple as saying yes to a date.

Why Choose Us

Most holiday lighting outfits exist for ten weeks a year. We're a year-round landscaping company, so the people on your property in November are trained, insured crew members you can still reach in March. That matters on mature-tree lots, where wrapping trunks and running roofline light around overhanging branches takes real ladder-and-rigging experience — the kind our crews build all year, not just in season.

We publish our price ranges instead of hiding them behind a phone call, we carry full licensing and insurance, and certificates of insurance are available for HOA approval. Many customers pair their display with snow removal and let one company run their whole winter.

Christmas Light Installation Cost in Northbrook

Most Northbrook roofline installs run $800–$1,800; add wrapped trees, walkways, and greenery, and a full-property display typically lands between $2,000 and $4,200.

Install typeTypical range
Roofline only$800–$1,800
Full property$2,000–$4,200

Those numbers cover everything: commercial-grade LED lights (we supply and own them), custom-fit installation, mid-season repairs, January takedown, and storage until next season. They don't cover permanent LED systems — priced separately above — or tree removal and trimming. Your exact quote comes down to three things: how many linear feet of roofline you're lighting, how many stories the crew is working on, and how steep and accessible the roof is.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between permanent and seasonal holiday lights?

Seasonal displays use removable strands we install in the fall, take down in January, and store for you — they can cover rooflines, trees, walkways, and greenery. Permanent LED trim mounts under the eaves once and stays up year-round with app-controlled colors, but it covers the roofline only. Seasonal costs less upfront; permanent skips the annual install.

Will the installation damage my roof or siding?

No. We attach strands with professional clips that grip shingles and gutters — no staples, nails, or screws in your fascia. Permanent trim is mounted once, under the eave line, with fasteners designed for the job. Everything comes down clean.

Do the lights hold up through Illinois winters?

Yes. We use commercial-grade LED strands built for snow, ice, and freezing temperatures — not the light-duty strings sold in big-box stores. If a storm does knock a section out, mid-season fixes are included at no charge.

Do you take the lights down afterward?

Yes — January takedown and off-season storage are both included in the price of every seasonal install. We remove everything, coil and label it, and store it in our facility so it's ready to go back up next year.

Can you help me design the layout?

That's part of the estimate. Tell us the look you're after — classic warm white, multicolor, roofline only, or the full property — and we'll recommend a layout that fits your home's architecture and trees, then price it before you commit to anything.

Check off what you want lit, tell us where the house is, and we'll send a firm number — for a seasonal display, permanent LED, or both. Photos help: a quick shot of the front of the house sharpens the quote.

Real Reviews from Our Customers

Holiday lighting is our newest service, so these Google reviews come from our landscaping customers — same company, same crew, same standards.

I have used Midwest Breeze for my personal home for the last 2 years and have been very happy with each interaction. When I needed help at a client site with a landscape project I hired them. They completed the task to both my satisfaction and my clients. It is great when a company can make everyone happy. The best part was they came in on budget and early on the timeline.

Russell Snella — Google review (landscaping)

I have used Midwest Breeze Landscaping several times in the past, and will be using them much more in the future. They are not afraid of the challenging projects, and work hard to earn your business. Dedicated and hard working, they make it happen no matter what. You will not be disappointed.

George Arvanites — Google review (landscaping)

I'm very happy with the work they have done for me. Kosta goes out of his way to accommodate his customers in any way he can. His staff members are also so professional and polite. I would recommend him for any landscaping a person needs to have done.

Areas We Serve

Northbrook sits at the center of our North Shore holiday-lighting route, which we run from our Addison headquarters alongside our landscaping and winter-service work. We serve the surrounding Cook County communities as well, so if your home is just over the line, send the form anyway — odds are we already drive past it.

Route slots are scheduled in booking order, which is why the November 15 deadline matters. Want your house on this year's route? Call (630) 827-9621 or get your free estimate.
