A Holiday Lighting Crew Winnetka Homes Can Rely On

We won't claim decades of holiday-lighting history here — lighting is the newest service from our landscaping company, and we'd rather earn trust than borrow it. What we do bring is a crew that works on homes like these all year: pre-war architecture, steep slate rooflines, and mature trees that make every install a rigging problem before it's a decorating one.

Those homes punish shortcuts, so we don't take them — commercial-grade LED strands cut to fit, professional clips instead of staples, and full insurance on every job. If something goes dark in December, we come back and fix it at no charge.

Our Services in Winnetka

Everything is turnkey: we design the display, supply and own the lights, install between October 15 and December 10, maintain the display all season, take it down in January, and store it until next year. Roofline lighting in warm white C9 anchors most estate displays, with trunk-and-branch wrapping on mature elms and oaks, staked lighting along long front walks, and wreaths and garland at the entry.

Certificates of insurance are available for HOA approval. And because we're a winter operation anyway, many clients bundle their display with snow removal — one crew covering the driveway and the roofline from November through March.

Why Choose Us

Steep pitches and slate are exactly where hiring matters. Slate can crack under a careless boot, and a three-story peak above a landscaped bed leaves no room for improvisation — so our crews plan access before anyone climbs, use ladder standoffs that keep weight off fragile roofing, and clip lights to gutters and trim rather than fastening into the roof itself.

You also get a company that still exists in February: we answer the phone year-round, return in January for takedown, and keep your custom-cut strands labeled and stored for a faster reinstall next season.

Christmas Light Installation Cost in Winnetka

Most Winnetka roofline installs run $1,200–$2,800, and full-property displays — roofline, wrapped trees, walkways, and greenery — typically run $3,000–$7,000.

Install typeTypical range
Roofline only$1,200–$2,800
Full property$3,000–$7,000

That spread is wider than in most towns we serve, and it comes down to the three things that move every quote: roofline footage (long, broken rooflines take more custom-cut strand), the number of stories, and roof pitch and access — slate, turrets, and steep peaks add crew time and equipment. Every price includes the commercial-grade LED lights, custom-fit installation, mid-season maintenance, January takedown, and off-season storage. It doesn't include permanent systems, or tree removal and trimming.

Want lights that never come down? Permanent LED runs $20–$40 per linear foot — details on our main Christmas light installation page.

What We Install

Four looks anchor most of our estate displays. Warm white C9 along the roofline is the timeless choice for pre-war architecture — it reads elegant from the street without shouting. Wrapped trees turn mature trunks and canopies into the centerpiece of a deep front yard. Wreaths and garland dress entries, gates, and lampposts. And for families who want more color, a designer display layers patterned strands across the roofline and landscape. Mix them however you like; the estimate prices each element separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you work on steep or hard-to-reach rooflines?

Yes — that's most of what we do on the North Shore. Steep pitches, slate, three-story peaks, and rooflines hemmed in by mature trees change the equipment and the plan, not the answer. We assess access during the estimate so install day holds no surprises.

Are your crews insured to work on high-value homes?

Yes. We're fully licensed and insured, and we can provide a certificate of insurance for your records or for HOA approval before work begins. Our crews work on high-value landscapes year-round and treat roofing, copper gutters, and plantings accordingly.

Do you install wreaths, garland, and tree wrapping too?

We do — greenery and tree wrapping are priced as add-ons to a roofline install or as a standalone display. Trunk-and-branch wrapping on a mature tree is one of the most striking upgrades you can make on a deep lot.

How early should I book?

Book by November 15 — installs run October 15 through December 10, and the calendar fills front-first. Larger estate installs take more crew time, so the earlier you book, the more choice you have over when the display goes up.

The fastest route to a real number: check what you want lit, give us the address, and attach a photo of the front of the house. Complex rooflines usually get a follow-up call so we can quote access correctly.

Areas We Serve

We serve Winnetka and the surrounding North Shore from our Addison headquarters, running dedicated seasonal routes from mid-October through the January takedown window. Estate installs get scheduled first because they take the most crew time — one more reason the November 15 booking deadline matters here.

If your home sits just outside the village, send the form anyway; the route likely passes you already. Ready to see it lit? Call (630) 827-9621 or request a free estimate.
