Professional Christmas Light Installation

A professional install means more than stapling light strings to a gutter. Our crew measures your roofline, cuts commercial-grade LED runs to fit it exactly — corner to corner, peak to peak — and clips every bulb so the lines stay straight through wind and snow. No dangling cords, no dark gaps where two strings would not quite meet. Many homes here are large two-story properties with long rooflines, and that is exactly the kind of ladder work worth handing to an insured crew instead of spending a cold Saturday on it yourself.

You pick the look; we handle design, power, timers, and every fix in between. When the season ends, we take everything down in January and store it until next year. The estimate is free — send a photo of your home through the form below and we will price it the same week.

Our Services

Every display is custom-fit to your home — we do not sell one-size kits, and you can combine any of these on a single estimate:

  • Roofline lighting — C9 LED bulbs traced along gutters, ridgelines, peaks, and dormers for a clean outline you can read from down the block
  • Tree and shrub wrapping — trunks, canopies, and landscape beds wrapped at a density you choose
  • Walkway and driveway lighting — staked lights that follow your paths and edges
  • Wreaths and garland — lit greenery for entries, railings, lamp posts, and windows
  • Commercial displays — storefronts, offices, and community buildings on their own service schedule

Want something you do not see listed? Ask. If it holds a light clip, we can probably light it. Commercial clients get the same crew and the same included maintenance, with scheduling built around business hours.

Light Up Your Holiday Season with Midwest Breeze Landscaping

We are a landscaping company first, and that matters in winter. The crews who build patios and grade drainage all summer are the same people hanging your lights in the cold — careful with the plants, beds, and hardscape they work around all year. Ladders get set where roots will not be crushed, cords get routed where they will not choke shrubs, and lights get clipped, not screwed into your fascia.

You also get one local contractor who is still accountable in January, not a seasonal operation that vanishes after New Year's. Many families bundle holiday lighting with snow removal so a single crew handles the whole winter, and because we work in these yards year-round, we design displays that flatter your landscaping instead of fighting it.

Christmas Lights Installation Process

  1. Free estimate. Send your address and a photo of the front of your home through the form below, or call. You get a written price, usually the same week — no obligation, and no site visit required to start.
  2. Design and measure. We walk the property, confirm roofline footage, and settle colors, bulb styles, and which trees and walkways to include before anything goes up.
  3. Install. Installs run October 15 through December 10. Each run is cut to fit, clipped in place, and put on a timer before the crew leaves, so the display turns itself on at dusk.
  4. Maintain, take down, store. Mid-season fixes are included at no charge. In January we remove everything, coil and label it, and store it in our facility until next season — nothing goes in your garage.

Why Naperville Families Trust Midwest Breeze

Licensed & Insured Crews

Every installer on your roof is covered by our liability and workers' compensation insurance — the same coverage that protects our landscaping work all year. Certificates of insurance are available for HOA approval if your community asks for one before install.

Takedown & Storage Included

Your quoted price covers the full cycle: installation, in-season service, January takedown, and off-season storage in our facility. Your garage stays empty, your attic stays clear, and your lights come back next fall tested and ready to hang.

Commercial-Grade LEDs

We supply and own the lights — heavy-duty, outdoor-rated LEDs built to survive season after season on a roofline. If a bulb fails, we replace it as part of the service. You never buy, untangle, or troubleshoot a box of store lights again.

What We Install

A few of the looks we build most often — mix and match any of them on one estimate. Warm white reads classic; multicolor reads playful; a white roofline with color in the trees splits the difference.

Christmas Lighting Pricing

InstallationTypical range
Roofline only$800–$1,800
Full property$2,000–$4,200

Most Naperville roofline installs run $800–$1,800, and full-property displays with trees, walkways, and greenery run $2,000–$4,200. Every price includes the commercial-grade LED lights themselves, custom-fit installation, mid-season maintenance, January takedown, and off-season storage. Not included: permanent lighting systems and tree removal or trimming.

Three things move a quote most: roofline footage, number of stories, and roof pitch and access. Two-story homes price higher than ranches at the same footage because of ladder time, and dormers, tall peaks, and detached garages add runs.

Working to a budget? Tell us the number. A roofline-only install is the usual starting point, and trees and walkways can be added next season without redoing anything.

Want lights that never come down? Permanent LED systems run $20–$40 per linear foot — see our Christmas light installation service page for details.

Service Areas

We install throughout Naperville — every part of the city is on a winter route — along with neighboring DuPage County communities. If you are just outside the city limits, call anyway; our routes cover most of the county.

Crews are scheduled by area, so booking early does more than hold your price. It usually gets your display up sooner, and it means a service call reaches you faster when weather rolls through. The calendar fills from mid-October forward, and we stop taking new installs after November 15.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of lights do you install?

Commercial-grade LEDs: C9 bulbs for rooflines and smaller LEDs for tree wraps, shrubs, and walkways. C9s are the large traditional bulbs you see outlining rooflines; the smaller LEDs do the fine work in greenery. Warm white, multicolor, and custom patterns are all available, and we supply and own every light, so quality stays consistent across the display.

Do you install lights on trees and landscaping too?

Yes — trunk and canopy wraps, shrub covers, bed accents, and lit walkways. As landscapers, we know how to light plants without damaging them, and a full-property estimate covers all of it in one number. Wrapped trees are usually the second thing families add after the roofline — one big tree can carry a whole front yard.

Do you offer design help if I'm not sure what I want?

Yes. Every free estimate includes design recommendations: send a photo and we will suggest which rooflines to trace, which trees to wrap, and where color works best. You approve the plan before anything is installed. And if you already know exactly what you want, we will simply price it as specified.

When is the best time to schedule an installation?

Book by November 15 — that is our cutoff. Installs run October 15 through December 10, and the earliest bookings get first pick of install dates. You can have lights up well before Thanksgiving without running them until you are ready; the timer does not care when we hung them.

How do you handle wind and winter weather?

Every run is clipped and secured rather than draped, and the lights we use are rated for outdoor winter conditions. If a storm knocks something loose anyway, mid-season maintenance is included — we come back and fix it at no charge. That service window lasts as long as your display is up.

What happens if a section of lights goes out mid-season?

Call us and we will make it right. Outages, timer problems, and loose runs are covered by the included mid-season maintenance at no extra cost. Because we own the lights, we carry replacements for everything we hang — there is no waiting on a part you were never told about.

Testimonials

Holiday lighting is our newest service, so we will not show you borrowed photos — these Google reviews come from our landscaping customers, and the same crews handle both.

I have used Midwest Breeze for my personal home for the last 2 years and have been very happy with each interaction. When I needed help at a client site with a landscape project I hired them. They completed the task to both my satisfaction and my clients. It is great when a company can make everyone happy. The best part was they came in on budget and early on the timeline.

Russell Snella — Google review (landscaping)

I'm very happy with the work they have done for me. Kosta goes out of his way to accommodate his customers in any way he can. His staff members are also so professional and polite. I would recommend him for any landscaping a person needs to have done.

Nancy Gerstmayr — Google review (landscaping)

I have used Midwest Breeze Landscaping several times in the past, and will be using them much more in the future. They are not afraid of the challenging projects, and work hard to earn your business. Dedicated and hard working, they make it happen no matter what. You will not be disappointed.
