Holiday Lights Installation in Elgin
Every install we do starts with a tape measure, because no two rooflines here are alike. This area has some of the oldest homes we hang lights on — Victorian-era houses with steep cross-gables, turrets, wraparound porches, and decorative trim — right alongside mid-century ranches and newer two-stories with clean, simple lines.
Whatever you own, the display gets designed for your house, not adapted from a kit. One local crew handles the whole season: design, installation, mid-season fixes, January takedown, and off-season storage. You flip the switch; we do everything else.
How Our Christmas Light Installation Works
- Free estimate. Send your address and a photo of the house. We price the display and answer questions — no site visit needed to get a number.
- Design and firm quote. You choose the styles; we confirm footage and lock the price before any work starts.
- Install. Crews hang and test everything on a scheduled date between October 15 and December 10.
- Season-long support. If a bulb or section fails, mid-season maintenance is included at no charge.
- Takedown and storage. We remove the display in January and store your lights until next season.
Christmas Light Installation Cost in Elgin
| Install type | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Roofline only | $400–$900 |
| Full property | $1,000–$2,200 |
Most Elgin roofline installs run $400–$900, and full-property displays run $1,000–$2,200.
That price includes commercial-grade LED lights, a custom-fit install, mid-season maintenance, January takedown, and off-season storage. It does not include permanent lighting systems or tree removal and trimming.
Three things set your quote: roofline footage, number of stories, and roof pitch and access. That is also why an older Victorian can land above these ranges — steep cross-gables, turrets, and porch trim add real footage and ladder time, while a one-story ranch of the same width sits at the bottom of the range.
Want a display that never comes down? Permanent LED systems run $20–$40 per linear foot — see our main Christmas light installation page.
What We Install
Roofline C9 bulbs are the anchor of most displays, in warm white or multicolor. Walkway stakes light the path to the door, wreaths and garland dress porches and railings — a natural fit on older homes with real trim to decorate — and full designer displays combine all of it. Where trim is ornate, we route lights around it rather than over it — the detail is the point of these houses.

Why Choose Us?
We are a year-round landscaping company, so the crew hanging your lights in November is the same full-time crew that works ladders and rooflines in every other season. We are licensed and insured, and certificates of insurance are available for HOA approval.
You also skip owning the lights: we supply commercial-grade LEDs, and when something fails mid-season we fix it free, because it is our equipment. And since we clear driveways all winter, plenty of customers bundle their display with snow removal and hand the whole season to one company.
Areas We Serve in Elgin
From the oldest blocks in town to the newest subdivisions, we hang lights across every part of Elgin — century-old homes with complicated rooflines get the same crew and the same guarantee as new construction. We also serve neighboring towns, including South Elgin, Bartlett, Streamwood, and Hanover Park.
Install routes are scheduled by area, so booking early keeps your date flexible and lets us group your home with others nearby. Not sure whether you are in range? Send the address — confirming it costs nothing.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I schedule my Christmas light installation?
As soon as you have dates in mind. We install from October 15 through December 10 and book through November 15 — the closer to Thanksgiving it gets, the fewer install dates remain.
Is there a difference between your lights and the ones at my local store?
Yes. We install commercial-grade LEDs cut to your exact roofline, so runs end at corners instead of dangling half-strands. We also own and maintain them, which is why mid-season fixes cost you nothing.
Do you store the holiday lights during the off-season?
Yes. After January takedown, your lights stay with us until next season. Both takedown and storage are included in every install — nothing extra to buy or box up.
Do you offer design services for my light display?
Yes. Send a photo of your home with your estimate request and we will suggest a design — roofline style, tree and walkway accents, and wreath or garland placement — sized to your budget.
Can I keep my lights up all year?
Seasonal strands are meant to come down, and ours do in January. If you want a year-round look, permanent LED trim is built for exactly that, and we can quote it alongside your seasonal estimate.
